Food Packaging Design & SFDA Label Rules in Saudi Arabia

How to design food packaging that wins the shelf and clears the regulator — strong shelf design plus the SFDA mandatory label information, planned in from the start.

Great food packaging in Saudi Arabia has two jobs at once: win the shelf, and satisfy the regulator. Get either wrong and you either don't sell or you can't ship. Here is how to design food packaging that is both beautiful and compliant.

Design that earns the second look

On a crowded shelf you have about three seconds. Win them with one dominant colour, a single clear focal point, and structure that feels good in the hand. Restraint beats decoration every time.

What the label must carry

Saudi food labels are regulated by the SFDA, and the essentials must be present and legible in Arabic:

  • Product name, net content and ingredient list.
  • Production and expiry dates and storage conditions.
  • Nutrition facts, allergens, and the manufacturer / importer details.
Designers who treat the mandatory information as the enemy lose. The best packs make the legal copy part of the design system, not a sticker slapped on later.

Plan compliance into the artwork

Leave room for the Arabic mandatory panel from the first sketch, not the last. We design shelf-ready, SFDA-aware food packaging for Saudi brands so the pack that wins the aisle is the same one that clears customs.

Bringing a product to market — or fixing a pack that's holding you back? Let's design it right the first time.
